Platforms (a program, notion, or way of doing something that people use to enrich their own work/aims) are stages. They are open and flat and are there to help you project what it is you are trying to convey, change, or ask. Platforms are often open source ideas. You can see how they are made or distributed. You can use them or not. Often you know who invented it. Often not.
Platforms are there for you to act on. They can change the world, ruin a date, or it can go unnoticed. Organizations can take a long time to build, have incredibly cool designs, become unusable, or be the scene of amazing ideas and work coming together.
Knowing the goal is essential to knowing if you need a skyscraper or an opera venue.
